Do-it-Yourself

Today there are so many ways to create and make your own decorations, jewelry, beauty products and much more. Now that people are becoming more aware of all the toxic chemicals in many store bought products they are trying to "do- it-themselves"- great!

Here are my DIY ideas that are easy and you can rest assured- healthy!

Beauty

S.U.G.A.R scrub

All you need is an old, empty bottle or container that is water resistant.

Take 1 cup of all purpose sugar. Add 2 tsp of extra virgin olive oil. 2 tsp of fresh lemon juice and a sprig of lavender. Mix together and leave in your shower to sloth off dead skin and leave you with fresh smelling, soft skin. Great for the upcoming , bare arms summer months!

Multi-purpose Rinse

All you need is an old shampoo or conditioner bottle, rinsed out.

Take 1 cup of apple cider vinegar and combine with 1 cup of water. A bit smelly but use in the shower after your shampoo for a natural itchy or dry scalp remedy and for a natural shine in your hair. Leave in for 3 minutes and rinse thoroughly. The slight vinegar smell stays with you for about a day so do not use if you are heading out somewhere important.

Facial scrub

3 tsp Steel cut oats

1 tsp tea tree oil

1 tsp lemon

1 tsp jojoba oil

Mix together. Wet face and massage scrub , rinse immediately. Be sure to use a oil-free moisturizer after to keep skin hydrated. I recommend Aubrey organics, jason naturals, aveda or aveeno naturals.

Leave- in hair treatment

2-4 tsp olive oil ( depending on hair length)

1 sprig of lavender

1 tsp jojoba oil

combine all and set in hair for at least 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and shampoo after. For best results, leave in overnight.
